Good News/ Bad News

The ultrasound was good news and bad news.

The tech saw two gestational sacs right away.  She found a heart beat (116) in one but the other gestational sac was empty.

The embryo measured at 6 weeks 4 days.

She located a sac separation that is causing the bleeding.  Not a good thing but it’s nice to have an explanation for what’s been going on (after I posted yesterday I started bleeding again).  I was told I really need to take it easy.

I’m not scheduled for another ultrasound for two weeks and that makes me really nervous.

The nurse told me that any heart rate over 100 is good at this point but I looked up the heart rate from when I miscarried and it was 115 so I’m not too reassured.

I’m so happy that I cleared another hurdle but at the same time even more anxious about what is to come.  It’s hard to get too excited when last time at this point I saw two heart beats and ended up with no baby and this time there is only one.

Come on baby, be strong and hang in there!

  1. I’m sorry to hear about the second sac. 😦 But, on another note, try not to compare this pregnancy to your last. I know it’s easier said than done, trust me I do. But they’re not the same and the heartbeat has no bearing on whether or not there will be a repeat.
If you’re as nervous as I believe you to be (based on how I feel & felt), then don’t be afraid to call your doc’s office and share your fears. If you can get in for a “comfort” check between now & then, do so. But you’ve gotta speak up & remind them of what you’ve been through. Sometimes, thats all it takes. I know you’re scared, but I believe it’s all going to be alright.
I’m praying for you and sending you hugs…. 🙂

Oh sweetie I’m so sorry there was bad news too, but I’m with Bree. Call and tell them your feelings and demand that you get a comfort check. The better you feel about the baby the less stressed you will be about everything else.
I’ll be praying hard for you.

  3. I’m sorry that you had some bad news at your appt, but you also had good news which is great! I hope the next two weeks fly by for you….
