Furnace Down

Over the past week or two I have been getting so hot at night, it makes it hard to sleep. Last night I finally slept so good all night long but woke up to Guillermo saying “doesn’t it seem like it’s really cold in here?” He got up and checked the thermostat and it was only 51 degrees. brrrrrrr. It didn’t seem too cold to me because our dog was on the bed right next to me keeping me warm, or trying to get warm herself. The night before we had smelled a strange burning smell that we couldn’t figure out and it turned out to be our furnace breaking down.Luckily we have a gas fireplace both upstairs and down and a space heater so we can save the added cost of calling the heating company on the weekend and wait until tomorrow. We’re also lucky that it happened this week when it only is getting down to single digits at night and not last week when it was getting down to -20, we could have woken up to frozen pipes. Oh, the joys of owning your home. Buying a new furnace really wasn’t in the budget right now.

  1. Oh my…I sure hope you get it fixed soon! I can’t imagine sleeping in -20° weather…yikes!! I would have about 10 blankets on the bed…lol 😉

Thank goodness you have the fireplaces! This is a great reason to snuggle on the couch with the dog and a bunch of blankets!
